El Gran Árbol is a land far away from civilization, deep within the Riela Forest. There, the mystical and ancient land of the Feywild borders Middle-Earth. The Feywild is known as the “land of light” the place where the entities of light were said to be discarded by the Elementals in the creation of the world, just as the opposite, the Shadowfell, was where all the darkness was discarded. Through this, three realms became known as brothers and sisters. The Feywild, Middle-Earth, and Shadowfell.

El Gran Árbol was native home to a very ancient race known as the Dryads: mystic creatures and the guardians of the woods. To humans and onther sentient races, they were nothing more than myths and legends, but in reality they were all too true. Androgynous plant-like humanoids that live at peacwe with one another and the wild of nature and the animals there, they rarely bother themselves to meddle with other affairs that do not include the wellfair of the wildlife. The Dryads, despite being hermaphroditic and adrogynous, take on the apperance as beautiful maidens of any race they so please, those mainly being elves, eladrins, and haughty humans. Their strong magical bond allows them this ability.

Dryads are not born, but are awoken. the women of hte ofrest lie in a deep slumber through the many centuries, until aowken to sentience by their “ream”. A vision of what their focus is to be in life. Once they have seen this in their sleep, they animate, and becoem one with the world. They live too one day seek out the meaning of their vauge vision, and once they do, become a magnificent tree and gain eternal life, and loose their sentience in the process. This, the dryads reveere as a great thing, a sign that the dryad had lived to their fullest and that they are ot be seen wit hthe upmost respect.

This is the story of Syrinx… And her journey as a dryad.
